Orangutan Outreach Sarva Soaps has adopted Kesi, one of countless orphaned orangutans whose habitat has been destroyed by overharvesting of palm oil, which is used widely in our food and personal care items, including soaps. Orangutan Outreach is a part of the Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Foundation, the largest primate rescue project in the world. BOS is the only organization actively rescuing wild orangutans from oil-palm plantations, as well as rehabilitating orphaned orangutans, displaced as a result of the relentless devastation of their habitat to clear land for palm oil production. BOS relies entirely on donations, and Sarva Soaps directly funds Kesi's rehabiltation so that she can be placed in a new habitat. We at Sarva continually work to reduce our use of palm or palm kernel oil, with an end goal of eliminating its use entirely. |
